In this project, I was invited to create a new site-specific work at the old Eilat Airport before its demolition, as part of a short-term exhibition curated by Marina Pozner. The show featured several artists who took over the abandoned terminal building during the COVID-19 lockdowns.
I chose to focus on two significant landmarks in Eilat: the airport and the seaport. The work merges these two points of departure, forming a large-scale floor installation visible from the control tower or a bird’s-eye view.
In the piece, the boundaries between sea and sky are blurred and fused into a single, organic body that expands outward. Embedded within it are fragments of buildings and cargo ships, sections of bridges and security fences, forming arterial lines that nourish the body and connect its parts.
